On completing the Research Methods course students will be able to:

identify the basic elements involved in defining a piece of academic work and structure such work appropriately, including defining a broad research area together with the important issues and research questions within that area.

undertake a focused and comprehensive literature search and explain its role within academic research.

consider the relationship between the research topic, existing literature, research methodology, research design and research methods.

identify, collect and analyse relevant research data.

undertake a formal written research proposal that:

The Process of Learning and Teaching
